Abstract: This research explores the lived experience of weight management in overweight married men. The topic was chosen because of my interest in weight management. Men were chosen because the majority of the studies about weight management focus on women. Four semi structured interviews were carried out and analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Five themes , which shed further light on how weight management is experienced by married men, emerged. These included: Weight throughout life, Perceived factors influencing weight, Social Factors influencing weight, reasons for managing weight, and strategies to manage weight. Furthermore the limitations of the study and implications for further studies are included.
