Abstract: | The purpose of this study was to understand the way students perceive fashion trends. To investigate this area, a qualitative approach was formed whereby three focus groups were conducted. The participants were all university students between 18-22 years old. The data collected was analysed through Thematic Network Analysis. The results suggested that fashion is perceived as free and expressive, but at the same time controlled by multiple external factors such as social pressure , money, trends and the media. |
