Pharmaceutical care is a significant transition in the profession of pharmacy where the primary focus is the patient, rather than distribution of medicines and dissemination of information about medicines. It is a "Philosophy of practice in which the patient and society are beneficiaries ofthe pharmacists' action "(WHO, 1994). Central to the provision of pharmaceutical care are the relationships between the pharmacist and the patient and other health care professionals; responsibility to the patient for the quality of care provided; and the cultivation of appropriate attitudes and character traits.en_GB
