The image of God potrayed by adolescents in church schools

Abstract

As from their infancy, adolescents have been hearing a lot about God whom they don't see. This has led them to create a personal image of who God is. The aim of this thesis is to identify the ways in which adolescents imagine God and portray their relationships with God. This dissertation will not only help to disclose the image of God held by adolescents but also compare and contrast the images of God that male students have with those held by female students. This study was conducted with Form 3 male and female students attending Church schools. The participants were chosen randomly and were divided in four groups of five. Two conversations with purpose were held with every group. The first conversation had the aim of setting the context for an exploration of the participants' image of God whilst the second group conversation had to the aim to clarify the image that each of these participants hold of God.
