Abstract: The biographical note on Salvatore Grima is based on archival material which came to light from the students' registers in the Secret Archive of the Pontifical Scots' College in Rome (Pontificium Collegio Scotorum de Urbe) as well as from the Theses cards in the Catalogue of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and other material regarding the Society of Jesus. The young Grima was sent to a Scottish seminary in Rome, founded in 1600, because his Archbishop (Mauro Caruana O.S.B.) knew the Scottish hierarchy on a personal basis. Later, Grima would be known for his spiritual and philanthropic activity in the Archdiocese of Malta.
