dc.description.abstractOn May 11th, 1938, His Excellency the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Malta, opened the Milk Centre of the Milk Marketing Department at Hamrun and thus inaugurated the Goats’ Milk Pasteurization Scheme. This unique experiment in the marketing of milk by Government has proved practical and is the foundation of a strong, healthy Maltese nation. A plentiful, pure milk supply is one of the essentials of a healthier nation; milk is a necessity and the increasing of the consumption of milk is a national service.en_GB
