Abstract: The Floriana Capuchin Church and Friary was built by Gran Master Verdalle around 1588 as per the designs of Girolamo Cassar. This article tells the story of how this historical site was severely damaged during three separate attacks from WWII air raids: on the 06/02/1942, the 04/05/1942 & finally the 05/04/1942. Each destroying parts of the site and its valuable contents that was once of huge religious significance to the local community. Written by Rev Dr Martin Micallef, it also features four photographs showing the extent of the damage after each attack.
