| dc.description.abstract | Fl-1924, Ellul Mercer sar membru tal-Kumitat Distrettwali tal-Imsida u sena wara dan il-kumitat ghazlu bhala Delegat fil-Kumitat Ezekuttiv tal-Partit Laburista. Bhal shabu l-ohra tal-Partit tal-Haddiema, hu kellu ghal qalbu l-valuri tal-gustizzja socjali u edukazzjoni ghal kulhadd u kien kontra l-hakma barranija f’Malta u favur li pajjizna jikseb l-Indipendenza. Fl-1928, Ellul Mercer inhatar Assistent Direttur tal-gurnal Laburista Il Cotra, biex imbaghad fl-1930 lahaq id-Direttur jew editur tal-gurnal. Fl-1955, Mintoff lahhqu Ministru tax-Xoghol u Rikostruzzjoni u wara nhatar ukoll Deputat Mexxej tal-Partit. Ellul Mercer kien midfun f’art mhux ikkonsagrata minhabba li l-Arcisqof Gonzi kien iddikjara interdett fuq il-membri tal-Ezekuttiv tal-Partit Laburista. | en_GB |
