Abstract: There are numerous streets which are named after Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Mercieca states that this devotion stems from the arrival of the Carmelite priests in Malta in 1418. He says that although almost 600 years passed from this important event, the love of the Maltese for Our Lady is still vibrant nowadays.
