Abstract: | One of the basic premises of contemporary Catholic Scripture scholarship is that the Old Testament is the necessary background for understanding the Testament we Christians call New. The present study will focus on the New and Eternal Covenant, and will try to show that this Covenant cannot be adequately understood except in the light of the Old Testament. |
