Being knowledgeable about the management of records is very crucial for any country. In fact, it was stated that “records are central to the work of all organised entities”. (PRISM, n.d.) Moreover, to specify its importance, it was also highlighted that records management are “much a resource-intense feature of operations as are employees, facilities, and equipment.” (PRISM) In this research, interviews with four Maltese participants were conducted regarding records management. Furthermore, a questionnaire was send electronically to two employees who work at the Register General of Scotland. The results of this research showed that by having good management of records, it would be easier for the researcher to do research and also there would be good preservation of records. To sum up with, the author researched various strategies that one could adopt in order to have good records management. Some of the main strategies that emerged through this research were the life cycle concept, digitisation and the storage of records.en_GB
