Abstract: | Diabetes is one of the most common health conditions in the world and it is ever increasing in prevalence. The aim of this study is to get an idea of how Maltese young adults perceive diabetes and what might effect this perception. A quantitative methodology was used in this study. An adapted version of the 24-item Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ) was used and from the data gathered it resulted that Maltese young adults do have a basic knowledge of what diabetes is and this knowledge is mostly dependant on the type of occupation that one has rather then gender. |
