Ethical issues of leadership in Church educational institutions are not a modern phenomenon. In this research study, I attempted to analyse thoroughly the implications of what leadership entails. In today’s world, being in the position of a leader is no trivial role. There are different models of leadership, but there is no single model which we can adopt to solve our problems. In this dissertation, I brought forward critical issues and how leaders need to address them. The important role of the Catholic Church which is spread worldwide must always be present in Catholic education which should be rooted in the conviction that human beings have a transcendent destiny. Therefore, education for the holistic person must be intellectual, physical, psychological and moral in each child. Education has always been fundamental to the papacy, and many papal documents were issued in order to serve as guidelines to the running of these schools. Throughout this study, I presented many difficulties which educators encounter every day. As educators, we witness children’s sufferings, and if they are not treated during the early stages, these children will unfortunately lag behind. Maltese schools too are facing such problems which are not easily solved. I believe that our starting point as educators and leaders must be the person of Jesus Christ, our leader and saviour. Following his teachings is the true path which leads our way to children whom we encounter every day and are entrusted in our care.en_GB
