Abstract: This study addresses emotions as they are embedded in football fandom. Apart from the biological and psychological aspect, there is also the sociological facet to analyse when dealing with emotions. This work indicates that emotions are socially created through various processes of socialization and are more than just chemicals in the brain. What this study also shows is that emotions should, or cannot, be negated to the irrational sphere of the human being. Football fandom is a great example of lived passionate feelings, as pointed out through this case study. More than just an analysis, this work gives a fully detailed perspective of a football fan's life which entails a daily committed identity immersed in emotions that are generated through various fields, such as rituals, symbols, spaces and the actual unique community of fans which, ultimately, become visible through bodily movements.
