Throughout the years, welfare benefits have assisted those who were in need of it reducing financial problems. This dissertation analyses the life experiences of persons with ME and their situation through a qualitative questionnaire and discourse analysis. Since the many disagreements that ME brings with such as whether it is a disability or not and due to the lack of awareness in society on ME itself, persons with ME do not receive any help from the welfare state leaving them in social isolation and excluded from society, continuously dependant on others and unemployed therefore with financial problems. This research will deal with how these persons with ME cope with their everyday problems that they are face with and look at what is being done in order for these people to have better lives and lifestyles.en_GB
