Abstract: The aim of the research was examining the state of employment in the printing industry in Malta. The main objectives of the research included, investigating the recruitment process in the printing industry, examining effective practices of recruitment in selecting appropriately skilled and talented employees in the local printing industry, and finally, proposing suggestions to enhance the recruitment process in the printing industry. In conducting this research, a mixed methodology was adopted where both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. Quantitative data was collected through structured interviews done by the researcher with some human resource managers in various printing organisations in Malta. On the other hand, quantitative data was gathered through questionnaires distributed to MCAST institute students using a Monkey Survey. The interviews were transcribed before being analysed using thematic analysis. The quantitative data was analysed through descriptive analysis and presented using graphs, frequency tables, and percentages. The ethical aspects adhered to included obtaining consent from respondents and maintaining confidentiality and privacy. The findings revealed that there was shortage of employee supply in the printing industry at Malta due to the recent multinational companies opening in Malta. Appropriate recommendations have been proposed for consideration.
