Educational change -- Malta
Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: This dissertation aims to look into a number of developments which took place in the University of Malta along the period 1977-2000. It aims to examine such changes from various angles such as the political influence that caused them, the circumstances that led to them and the outcomes of these changes. The examination of the said period will also look into student life at the University of Malta tracing the birth and work of student organizations and their reaction to such changes. This dissertation will be tapping past dissertations, as available, official documents, archives/ parliamentary debates and political documents. In this way it is hoped that the developments mentioned will be presented in as complete a setting as possible and will throw a light on how these changes came about and what consequences these had at the time on the University, its academic staff and students. The changes will also, however, be examined for their long term effects which may still be evident today.
