dc.description.abstractDuring the past twenty years Soccer in Gozo has become very popular, especially among the younger generation. Youngsters in town and in :the remoter villages form their own teams ,and play in quiet streets, public squares and in uncultivated fields. Yet in spite of all this enthusiasm for the games existing all over the Island, few villages send their representative side to the Silver Jubilee Sports Ground to play competitive or friendly matches.en_GB
