Abstract: As much as we have felt the need to distinguish between the various types of Inquisitions in the past, it is as important to define the different powers the Inquisitor in Malta enjoyed. The Inquisitor was conscious of the fact that the authority that one power carried with it was not necessarily the same connected with another.
