Abstract: Archaeologists believe that man set foot for the first time on our island some seven thousand years ago. He was then already a farmer one of those who had abandoned the primitive hunting communities that infested the coast along the north eastern Mediterranean littoral. Information about him is scant and what little we know about his early activities has been collected from anologies made by archaeologists and anthropologists, between his remains here and those of his counterpart in various other neighbouring regions in southern Europe.
