dc.description.abstractOn the flank of Wied Zembaq between Birzebbugia and Gnaxaq, lie the ruins of a large country house known in the neighbourhood as ld-dar ta ' Pultu. The house has often excited curiosity and popular imagination has woven round it a romantic legend according to which it was built by Ippolito, a Sicilian Knight, who tried to seduce Katerina, a lovely peasant-girl from Ta ' Ġellieda near Kirkop. Jealous of the family honour, the girl's father shot him dead and buried him beneath a mound of earth at il-Qlajja, half way between his farmhouse and Wied Zembaq.en_GB
