| Abstract: | I bid you welcome to this conference on "Integrating Social and Family Policy for the 90's in Europe". I am grateful that the United Nations Organization, particularly through its office in Vienna under Miss Anstee and the Council of Europe, have joined the Government of Malta in the organization of this conference. This conference is taking place on the 25th anniversary of the Independence of Malta, on the 20th anniversary of the United Nations "Declaration on Social Progress and Development", and on the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Council of Europe. Anniversaries are notably occasions for recalling important events and for making resolutions and proposals in connection with the events being celebrated. |
