dc.description.abstractOn 23 October 1663, three days after the death of Grand Master Raphael Cotoner, the knight electors, elected his brother, the Bailiff of Majorca Fra Nicolas Cotoner as the sixtieth Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of St. John. This was to be the second and last time in the history of the Order, that two brothers were elected to the Magistracy.en_GB
