dc.description.abstractThe above picture shows an antique piece of Maltese furniture popularly known as senduq (pl. sniedaq) preserved at the Maltese Folklore Museum in Vittoriosa. It is 1.22 metres long by 0.44 metres wide and is raised on four short legs giving it an aggregate height of 0.60 metres above floor level. These measurements, however, are not the same for all coffers. There are other types, each varying in size according to need or use.en_GB
