Abstract: Recent discoveries and resultant interpretations have changed drastically the old ideas of Malta's prehistory. It is today generally accepted that this phase of our culture lasted from c.5000, when the first man arrived from Sicily, to c. 800 BC when the Phoenicians took over the island.
