dc.description.abstract | This chapter consists of a detailed catalogue of the figurative objects from the University of Malta excavations, including Egyptian amulets and scarabs. It is followed by 'General Conclusions' in which aspects like distribution patterns of the objects and their chronological significance, as well as materials and styles, are considered. The catalogue consists of three sections. The first two sections are based on material, sculpture in stone being followed by terracotta figurines. The third section is dedicated to Egyptiaca and has two subdivisions, one dealing with amulets and the other with scarabs. All items are supported by photographs. Whenever photography is not considered sufficient to do justice to the objects or fails to show certain details (like perforated holes) drawings are supplemented. | en_GB |
