dc.description.abstractCarmela Pace was born in Valletta on August 17th, 1906. He was educated privately but attended also Saint Augustine College. He had an early instruction in music under his uncle Maestro Vincent Ciappara and violin lessons under Professor Carlo Fiamingo; later on Dr. Thomas Mayne coached him in harmony, counterpoint, fugue and orchestration.en_GB
