Abstract: During this decade, water polo having been firmly established after World War II, its further development was projected outwards, through the cultivation of more contacts with foreign clubs, from Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, England and Italy, as well as through the renewal of participation by Maltese national sides in the Mediterranean Games held in Naples in 1963 and in Tunis in 1967.
