| Abstract: | Jos. A. Vella is one of the best monochrome photographers on the Island and his work is a study of man. He was born at Mosta on July 17, 1927. His father Ganni (1889- 1953) was a music composer and conductor and assistant conductor of the R.M.A. band. He was also band master of various bands including those of St Nicholas, Siggiewi, St George, Qormi and Nicolo lsouard, Mosta. He was a patient, dedicated and kind-hearted man. Giovanna (1898- 1983) Joseph's mother was a serious woman brought up in discipline and sacrifice. She was the backbone of the family. |
