Abstract: At least one person in Malta was hoping that the forthcoming royal visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York would turn propitious. Vincent Farrugia of Strada Saluto, Valletta, lately an assistant engineer at the Dockyard, had been asked by the crew to of HMS Monkey to write to the Admiralty to request payment for overtime work.
