| Abstract: | Giuseppe Cali's paintings at Xaghra parish church were recently brought back to their pristine state following a programme of conservation and restoration. The lateral paintings of The Immaculate Conception and The Presentation of the Virgin Mary in the Temple, underwent deep interventions by restorer Manwel Zammit. The paintings had a thick layer of soot and dirt accumulated along the years which had obscured the actual design and colourful palette of the artist. |
