Abstract: | This writing seeks to answer the following questions: Is Legal Egalitarianism, enforced to the extent that gender inequality is no longer an issue in Malta? If not, why is gender inequality still a problem in 2019? Are there any weaknesses and loopholes in the law, from which inequality prolongs? Are the EU Directives concerning gender inequality at work implemented wholly or in part? How can the Maltese system abrogate gender inequality rapidly? What are the solutions and suggestions? These are the main questions that the author examines and answers in this term paper. In order to answer these questions, the author delves into the origins of gender inequality; this is done to further give the reader an in depth understanding of the problem. A comparison is done between Maltese law and Swedish law on the matter and the present situation is examined with the support of Maltese, EU law, case law and quantitative research. |
