The purpose of this research was to evaluate the benefits and drawbacks that the Public Administration Human Resources Office’s Human Resource Management experienced when making use of technology in contrast to traditional working procedures. The authors observed reasons why an institution should keep technology updated in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness, or not. Furthermore, importance was given to the employees’ point of view, especially with regards to the idea of change, training and making use of different systems. This dissertation provided insight on the Maltese Government, in particular the Public Administration Human Resources Office. The authors conducted interviews and sent out a survey to compare the results obtained from the sample population together with the findings in the Literature Review. Furthermore, references are made to various journals, articles and websites related to this study. Through the conducted research, employees who worked in various offices and departments, gave their opinion on issues which needed to be tackled so that their workplace experience could be improved when making use of new technologies. Some issues which the authors delved into are lack of communication, resistance to change, different cultures and security issues. From the collection of different views from employees working in the Public Administration Human Resources Office, it was concluded that technology leaves a great impact and was highly needed in order to advance the organisation’s and employee’s position.en_GB
