Abstract: This experiment investigated the effect that colours have on individuals' attitudes and intentions to purchase from an online website. Two experimental groups were set up, one consisting of participants viewing a blue website and one with participants viewing a red website. A data collection tool was also used to obtain the attitudes and intentions of 115 participants. A significant difference was found where participants viewing the blue website reported more positive attitudes towards it than participants viewing the red one. Moreover, they had increased intentions to purchase from the blue website.
