Abstract: When the author was young and attending catechism lessons, one of the points which impressed him was the fact that Baptism washes away the stain of the original sin. Perhaps this struck him, mostly because the story of Adam and Eve and their eventual fall from Grace, was always illustrated by bright and colourful pictures. As he grew older and the deeper truths behind this Bible story were explained to him in his Religious and Social Studies, he realised the importance of explaining such truths in simple words to anyone who would like to approach the sacrament of Baptism. That is why he have chosen to explain in detail in the first three chapters the story of Creation and the Fall of Man and Woman. Then John the Baptist entered into the scene and the difference between his Baptism and the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was explained. This led to the chapter dedicated to Jesus - Our Saviour. He also realised that it was necessary to speak about Mary. She is the only person, besides Jesus, who was kept free from the original sin. There had to be a chapter dedicated to her: why did God choose her among all the women in Israel? What is so special about her?
