Abstract: Housing i.e. the providing of shelter over one's head is one of the basic requirements of a human being in all civilized societies. Of course, not all persons own the roof over their heads and thus many have to lease same from those who have such property. This opens the subject to be discussed in this thesis : "The liberalization of the reletting of Urban Property Law." It goes without saying that this topic is pregnant with legal, economic and social dimensions which cannot be easily extricated from each other since they are so intricately interwoven amongst themselves. In the development of my thesis, I shall aim to lay the greatest stress on the legal sphere without forgetting the economic and social ones which are also important to the solution of the legal - social - economic quagmire which our Rent Legislation has become during the last sixty-five years.
