The complaint in Maltese penal proceedings

Abstract

It is the aim of this study to analyse the present position in Maltese Penal Law as far as the complaint is concerned, and to suggest if, and where necessary, alterations and amendments that may increase the logical cohesion and chronological adaptability of the present provisions of the law. The opinion which has been formed while preparing this study indicates a considerable number of lacunae existing in the present system not to speak of outright contradiction in certain parts of unquestionable legal importance. This study shall only attempt to fill these lacunae and it shall attempt a clarification where contradiction seems apparent.
