| Abstract: | The subject of this thesis is "A brief study of the most important clauses of the Bill of Lading"; however such a study would be incomplete if one were not to give a brief outline of the history of the Bill of Lading and make some reference to the concept of the bill of lading and to the functions which emerge from that concept and which have developed in the first instance by the custom of merchants and later were recognized by statute. |
