Abstract: The term “ economic vulnerability” as used in this paper, refers to proneness to damage from external forces. Vulnerability is often associated with small island developing states (SIDS) because they tend to be very exposed to factors outside their control, and the impact of external shocks tends to be relatively greater on these states, and this condition sometimes threatens the very economic viability of SIDS.
