Abstract: | In this visual essay, two artistic projects conducted with pre-service art teachers, irregular migrants and emerging artists from around the Mediterranean region are employed as metaphors for an art pedagogy that revolves around relational and collaborative practices. Informed by the work of Édouard Glissant, this ‘archipelagic pedagogy’ focuses on the unexpected and ephemeral nature of exchange and translation rather than individualistic and prescribed outcomes. |
