Abstract: This dissertatio9n dealing with supplementary reading in the upper class of primary schools, is based on the information got from the different schools which were visited during this survey. The first part deals with the theoretical aspects of reading, children's attitudes towards reading in general and the importance of supplementary reading together with its general aims and objectives in the Educational context. In the second part follows a description of how the survey was carried out and a close analysis of both questionaires. Conclusions which were reached after such a survey are found in the third part, together with some recommendations.
