Abstract

This work concerns the lyric poetry of Gozitan authors. I started with a general introduction in order to give a background on literature, poetry - especially lyric poetry, from an international as well as from a national point of view. I dealt also with the method involved in this anthology. In this anthology, one finds various sections on different themes. Every section follows a chronological order, throughout the ages. Not all poems, could be listed under the theme they dealt with, because first I had to see whether they qualified both as lyric poetry and as regards their level. On this dissertation, I had to do a lot of research work. I consulted manuscripts, journals, reviews, newspapers, books and other publications. As a conclusion, I gave a biographical note on every poet mentioned in this anthology. To make the reader more familiar with the authors and their poems, I classified the work under two headings; these are found in the appendix. At the end of this dissertation, one finds a bibliography of all the works I consulted.
