Citation: | Axisa, C. (1995). A CAL package and supporting material for the teaching of computer studies at the secondary level (Bachelor's dissertation). |
Abstract: | Certain topics in the secondary level computer science syllabus are difficult for the students to grasp since it is equally difficult for teachers to explain using the available traditional resources. A CAL package like that presented in this dissertation would assist the teacher in successfully presenting such topics in a convincing and lucid way. The topics included in this CAL package are: (i) The Central Processing Unit; (ii) Systems Analysis; (iii) High-level Languages; and (iv) Input and Output Devices. A Teacher's Manual provides a variety of practical exercises to be worked out by students while dealing with the CAL programs. The istructions found in this manual help teachers to tailor any of the modules to the class level. In addition, a Student's Manual guides the students to use the programs efficiently. |
