Abstract: The aim of this dissertation is to develop an Aesthetic Education Programme through Philosophy for Children. The dissertation develops a discussion on Aesthetic Education, with particular reference to the local situation, the appropriateness of the Cultural Accretion Core is considered, and an alternative approach is suggested. The programme, which is made up of 24 lessons, incorporates Aesthetic Education and Philosophy for Children and is intended to be used with early Secondary classes. A number of lessons from the suggested programme were tried out and analysed to see whether the original aims, that is, the development of Aesthetic Education through Philosophy for Children, were achieved.
