The main aim of the study is to explore the lived experience of carers working with older adults who are diagnosed with dementia residential homes. I conducted my study in a qualitative manner and through the collection o f text-based data, it recognizes the subjective experience of six carers working in three different residential homes in Malta: Zammit Clapp, Roseville and Villa Messina. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews of approximately fifty minutes each. It was gathered in the form of audio-recorded speech and then was subsequently analyzed using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) method. The participants talked about their reasons for choosing the profession, what their professional duties involve, their emtional bond with the residents and whether they experience any stress or burden.en_GB
