The dissertation tackles the aspect of fitness and lifestyle. The first chapter describes the reasons behind such a research, while in the literature review, the researcher identifies and elaborates on the five major fitness goals (Flexibility, Endurance, Muscle Power, Nutrition and Weight Control and Relaxation). The research carried out by means of a questionnaire, set out to find the lifestyle of Maltese persons aged between 18 and 30 years. Different types of charts were used to illustrate and analyse the results obtained. The results were compared to those obtained from similar research carried out abroad and discussed in a separate chapter. From the results obtained it was quite clear that the Maltese public are not very fitness oriented. One the major barriers to exercise among the Maltese respondents was the lack of time. Therefore the video which illustrates the use of everyday objects as potential tools for a possible workout at home would overcome such a problem. This video is accompanied by a booklet, which contains knowledge about benefits of exercises, exercise testing and evaluation, nutrition, safety, lifestyle and fitness. The knowledge that can be derived from this booklet would be indispensable to help lead a healthier lifestyle. In the last chapter the researcher identifies several recommendations that could improve health awareness among the Maltese public.en_GB
