dc.description.abstract"IF it is really the case", writes the Editor of "Britain Today" in the July, 1945 number, ''that wars are turning points between epochs, then we are standing on the threshold of a new epoch whose character we have yet to discover or, better sill, create," and, indeed our little island forms no exception. Postwar reconstruction plans, proposed changes, indicative of that health spirit which characterizes nations conscious of their role in the great drama of international upheaval - all point out to the fact that we who have lived through some of the worst pages of the last war, feel quite prepared to shoulder the task that we who have lived through some of the worst pages of the last war, feel quite prepared to shoulder the task of participating in the general re-birth and desire for the New. This intellectual epidemic has left no field unexplored.en_GB
