Letteratura Maltija għat-tfal vol. 11 : Letteratura u kitba oħra bil-Malti għat-tfal f'xi ġurnali Maltin mis-sena 1946 sal-bidu tas-snin tmenin

Abstract

This study deals with Maltese Literature and other writings for children published in some Maltese Newspapers from 1946 to the early 80's. My field of work is based mainly on two newspapers from which I have collected useful material after intensive research at the Malta National Library and at the Melitensia, University Library. The newspapers are IlBerga, which started its publication in 1930, and survived up to 1968; and Taghna t-Tfal, a recent paper for children which started publication in 1980. This work starts with a detailed introduction.This is followed by an extensive analytical study of: (i) Il-Berga and (ii) Taghna t-Tfal. In each of the two basic studies, I have included background information, a detailed classification of several themes of all the material that appeared for children, and an analytical study with reference to the primary sources and personal critical comments. I have also commented on the vocabulary and the ortography used by the different newspapers. At the very end I have also included a conclusion and a bibliography.
