Abstract

This work takes a close look at the most widely spread school magazine in Malta, Sagħtar, showing its importance in the local educational set-up. This work includes a historical outlook, studying the introduction of the magazine, how it flourished and the criticism it received in the local newspapers; an analytical study of the magazine based on the first hundred issues examines the different themes throughout and their relevance to the readers. A questionnaire based on the reading of the magazine was carried out in various secondary schools, from which evolve the readers' opinions and useful suggestions for future issues of the magazine
