Abstract: The aim of our dissertation is to analyze the way and the extent to which parents of Form 1 students involve themselves in their children's work. Our study will be based on six different secondary schools, being: ~ Two Junior Lyceums (a girls' and a boys' school) ~ Two Area Secondary Schools (a girls' and a boys' school) ~ Two Church Schools (a girls' and a boys' school) Six Heads of Schools, and six Form 1 students (from each school) together with their respective parents were interviewed, so as to triangulate results. The questions asked were geared towards parental involvement in children's homework. From our study we analyzed the present situation in the schools stated above, and came up with some pointers towards good educational practice which we think would be beneficial to tomorrow's schools.
